The main project aim is for primary school pupils to use their bodies and minds in an active outdoor learning environment - as an alternative to traditional classroom/indoor learning.
Exchange of pupils’ experience between the partner schools will encourage both pupils and teachers to further develop the outdoor learning method.
Another aim is to increase the pupils’ awareness of the importance of physical activity and sensible diet  - as modern lifestyle easily can appeal to the opposite.

We believe that the project will have a significant impact on the project participants. Physical activity, and the use of surrounding nature and local environment, will give the pupils self-confidence, better motor skills and healthier bodies and minds.

Project experience from outdoor learning activities will create a model for how such teaching methods can be implemented as part of the schools’ plans. We also intend to make a database, with a collection of outdoor activities for pupils, which can be useful for other primary schools and classes.

Teacher training students should find our project an interesting example of how theme work and cross-curricular activities can function in an outdoor learning context.
Teacher training colleges and students will be given the opportunity to use the results of the project as part of their education, as we plan to offer students’ practice periods in some of the outdoor themes during the project period.
